I come from the "Isle of the Arts"

I grew up on Gabriola island which is located in what's known as the "Isle of the Arts", All through the Georgia Straight there are small Gulf Islands full of Artists, Islands like, Hornby, Texada and of course, Gabriola. Gabriola is a place where children are born, paintbrushes in hand. Where the kindergarten teacher is that strange 'over the hill' hippy who encourages them to be "free spirits", and the grade 7 teacher commutes to school in a rowboat every morning. Its a colorful and artistic community to say the least and Id be lying if I didn't say that growing up there was a credit to my creativity.

There was no High School on Gabriola so about 200 of us would squeeze onto the Ferry every early morning and go to Nanaimo for grades 8-12 which is where I became interested in Urban art and I found a way to merge my Islander roots and my Urban knowledge to create a truly rounded artistic mind that allows me to become a chameleon in the design industry and switch from edgy and urban to elegant and upscale in a heartbeat.
